Our 550 cord is military spec parachute cord with internal strands. It is very strong and has great uses for many different activities. We have cut the core off the ends to demonstrate that it is true 550 lb. test cord. 550 cord has 7 individual twisted strands supporting each about 35 lb. test. Each strand consists of 3 strands supporting each about 11 lb. test. The sheath around the cord (the color of the cord) is rated at about 300 lb. on its own. We hope you enjoy it!
